Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus Train

September 11th 2012 my family saw one of the Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus trains (There are 2 of them.) It was. . . . it was exciting!  Next is a funny picture because I accidentally took it when the truck was going by!  Above the truck's hood is the train, but right under the hood is a small, white generator on wheels.  
Behind it is equipment for the circus.

There is another train behind the circus train that we saw.

I think this is one of the cars where the circus performers sleep.

There are quite a few of these cars.

The black vehicle on the back of this car is a tractor for pulling things like the boxes.
The gate-like things on the back of train car are probably there so it won't fall off as easily.  The red hitch between the white box and the tractor is there
so a borrowed tow truck can pull the white box. 

 

The bus that is on the end of the train is an International, but I do not no what it is for.   It might be for taking the circus performers from place to place, but I think they walk.

The black object in the center of the picture, I think,

 looks kind of like a lawn mower, except I don't know if it is.

 

This is another one of the cars where the circus performers sleep, and the picture is 

a close-up of the truck, which is the part that holds the wheels in place on train car.

 This is one of the engines that was pulling the circus train.  
They borrow the engines to pull it because they don't have their own.  
There were two engines and they were Norfolk Southern.

There is a DVD at our library called Extreme Trains (Volume I).  One of the episodes was about this circus train.  (Just reminding you, there are two circus trains that Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey use.)  The one on the DVD, we think, 
is the same one that we saw.  It makes it feel more realistic to me having seen it.

Revolutionary War

We are watching a movie about the Revolutionary War.  So Bradford and I built a Lego Revolutionary War battle.

This is Jessie.  She is holding a torch because it is dark behind the surgeon's tent.  

She is hiding from the British Redcoats.  

In front of the mud puddle is where the Patriots cook their food.  

The two horses are staying there because there is hay.  

To the right of the mud puddle is a tent.  The person behind it is hiding from the Redcoats also.

These four Patriots are hiding from the Redcoats also.  

They are waiting to see if the British Redcoats will attack within the tents.

These are some of the Patriots in battle.  The trees, grass, and bushes in the top right corner are land the Patriots and Redcoats are fighting over.  The Patriots that are on the ground are hurt or wounded.

Sorry I'm in the picture.

Cora is not supposed to be in the picture.  The Patriot's camp is supposed to look deserted.  In the last picture, you saw that Patriots were hiding behind tents.  These are the fronts of the tents you saw.

Arch day

We went to St.Louis to meet our friends, Tracy, Kelly, Xander and Natalie.We saw Uncle Evan's old school. We went to a restaurant called Fitz's nearby. They make their own sodas--cream soda, root beer, grape, cherry, and strawberry soda. Next we went to the Arch. We went all the way to the top, 630 feet! We looked out the 18 tiny windows at the top. We saw the Mississippi River, the cars, and people. The cars looked like Matchbox cars and the people looked like Lego people. We looked at the museum under the Arch with Indians, a metal maker, Lewis and Clark, a carriage, and an example house. We saw some statues too. We saw a helicopter landing pad on a boat. The helicopter landed on it to take people on tours. Before we left, Kelly let us all dip our feet in the Mississippi River.

Cinnamon Rolls

Since it was snowing my brother, Bradford, and I played in the snow for a long time until he dumped snow in my face. Then mommy asked me if I wanted to go on a walk and I said no because I was freezing cold. I went inside and changed clothes so I was warm and dry. Grandma made some cinnamon rolls from a can and I ate one. They were good. Eh, well. . . . I think I'll change it to delicious. Then I went on the back porch and played Legos.
